Description:
Anna (Amy Adams) travels to Dublin, Ireland to propose to her boyfriend Jeremy (Adam Scott) on February 29, leap day, because according to Irish legend, a woman can propose to her boyfriend on leap year, and he cannot refuse.[2] While mid-flight to Dublin, there is a storm and the plane diverts to Cardiff, Wales. Anna hires a boat to take her to Cork, but the boat is run aground on the Dingle Peninsula. She enlists the help of a surly Irish innkeeper, Declan (Matthew Goode), to taxi her across the country to Dublin to pull off the perfect proposal in time, and begins to question her intentions with Jeremy when she makes a connection with Declan.
When Anna reaches the Dingle Peninsula, Declan at first refuses to drive her to Dublin. Once his inn is threatened with foreclosure the next morning, he agrees to drive for 500 euros. Anna manages to damage her room badly, making the dresser fall, revealing a picture of Declan, a girl, and another man. Declan takes the picture away from her. On their way to Dublin, Declan mistakes Anna’s designer Louis Vuitton suitcase to be named Louis. The two set out in Declan’s rickety car, but they quickly run into a herd of cows. Anna shoos them away but stepped in cow dung, causing her to lean against the car, which wheels back into a lake. They reach a train station by foot. While passing time waiting for the train at a nearby castle, Declan asks Anna what she would save if her apartment caught fire, and she is unable to answer. The train comes several hours early, and Anna misses it.

Cast:Amy Adams, Matthew Goode, Kaitlin Olson, Adam Scott

Description:
Cold Souls is a 2009 comedy film written and directed by Sophie Barthes. The film features Paul Giamatti, Dina Korzun, Emily Watson, and David Strathairn. Giamatti stars as a fictionalised version of himself, an anxious, overwhelmed actor who decides to enlist the service of a company to deep freeze his soul. Complications ensue when his soul gets lost in a soul trafficking scheme which has taken his soul to St. Petersburg. The film then follows Giamatti desperately trying to find his soul.
Paul Giamatti stars as himself, agonizing over his interpretation of “Uncle Vanya.” Paralyzed by anxiety, he stumbles upon a solution via a New Yorker article about a high-tech company promising to alleviate suffering by extracting souls. Giamatti enlists their service — only to discover that his soul is the shape and size of a chickpea. His intention is to reinstate it once he survives the performance but complications ensue when a mysterious, soul-trafficking “mule” borrows Giamatti’s stored soul for an ambitious, but unfortunately talentless, Russian soap-opera actress.
In response to shiny, bigger, better American consumerism comes Cold Souls, a metaphysical comedy in which souls can be extracted and traded as commodities. Balancing on a tightrope between deadpan humor and pathos, and between reality and fantasy, the film presents Paul Giamatti as himself, agonizing over his interpretation of Uncle Vanya. Paralyzed with anxiety, he stumbles upon a solution via a New Yorker article about a high-tech company promising to alleviate suffering by deep-freezing souls. Giamatti enlists their services, intending to reinstate his soul once he survives the performance. But complications ensue when a mysterious, soul-trafficking mule borrows Giamatti’s stored soul for an ambitious, but unfortunately talentless, soap-opera actress. Rendered soulless, he is left with no choice but to follow the trail back to St. Petersburg.

Description:
Insecure Anita “Needy” Lesnicki (Amanda Seyfried) and popular flag girl Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) have been best friends since childhood, despite having little in common. One night, Jennifer takes Needy to a local dive bar to attend a concert by indie rock band Low Shoulder. A suspicious fire engulfs the bar, killing several spectators, and Jennifer is taken by the band despite Needy’s attempts to stop her. They take her into the woods, and offer her as a virgin sacrifice to Satan in exchange for fame and fortune. However, although the sacrifice and greedy exchange are a success, Jennifer is not a virgin, and when the lead singer Nikolai (Adam Brody) murders her, a demonic spirit takes over her body. Later that evening, Jennifer, covered in blood, appears in Needy’s kitchen and proceeds to eat food from the refrigerator. Unable to digest the matter, she vomits a trail of black fluid and then leaves in a hurry as Needy calls after her.
The next morning at school, Jennifer appears fine and shrugs off Needy’s concerns. While the small town is devastated by the eight deaths caused by the fire, Jennifer seduces the school’s football captain, and then attacks him in the woods, where his bloodied corpse is found later. The band gains popularity due to their rumored heroism during the fire.

Description:
My Year Without Sex is a title both straight-up and misleading: the story is about a character who abstains for a year but sex (or a lack thereof) is not a significant part of the story. After developing a brain aneurism, Natalie (Sascha Horler) is warned to avoid bursts of energy such as lifting, sneezing and you-know-what. This inevitably puts pressure on her relationship with hubby Ross (Matt Day) and the nuclear family synergy shared with their two young children. On the slow mend, Natalie joins a community choir run by a born again 80s rocker while Ross frets over the future of his job and the kids deal with the death of a goldfish. Like its characters, the film ambles along with a kind of day-to-day sincerity, and while the family goes through tough times the story maintains a soft-edged sweetness that coyly avoids falling even temporarily into doldrums of grief and despair.
My Year Without Sex is well acted. Sascha Horley and Matt Day contribute earthy and unassuming performances, creating an endearing partnership.
After the tumultuous breakthrough that was Look Both Ways, however, there is a sense that Watts is running at half or quarter speed in My Year Without Sex, the film a little too modest and soft-pedalled to register a strong impact. Still, it’s intelligent, endearing and pleasantly handled.

Cast:Sacha Horler,	Matt Day, Jonathan Segat, Portia Bradley, Roy Davies, Catherine Hill

Description:
“A Serious Man is the story of an ordinary man’s search for clarity in a universe where Jefferson Airplane is on the radio and F-Troop is on TV. It is 1967, and Larry Gopnik (Tony Award nominee Michael Stuhlbarg), a physics professor at a quiet Midwestern university, has just been informed by his wife Judith (Sari Lennick) that she is leaving him. She has fallen in love with one of his more pompous acquaintances, Sy Ableman (Fred Melamed), who seems to her a more substantial person than the feckless Larry. Larry’s unemployable brother Arthur (Richard Kind) is sleeping on the couch, his son Danny (Aaron Wolff) is a discipline problem and a shirker at Hebrew school, and his daughter Sarah (Jessica McManus) is filching money from his wallet in order to save up for a nose job.”
“While his wife and Sy Ableman blithely make new domestic arrangements, and his brother becomes more and more of a burden, an anonymous hostile letter-writer is trying to sabotage Larry’s chances for tenure at the university. Also, a graduate student seems to be trying to bribe him for a passing grade while at the same time threatening to sue him for defamation. Plus, the beautiful woman next door torments him by sunbathing nude. Struggling for equilibrium, Larry seeks advice from three different rabbis. Can anyone help him cope with his afflictions and become a righteous person — a mensch — a serious man?”

Description:
During the Chipmunks’ “Save the Music” benefit concert, sponsored by VH1, in Paris, where they perform “You Really Got Me”, David Seville (Jason Lee) tells Alvin (voiced by Justin Long) to take it easy, but Alvin has a difficult time listening. Then, Alvin jumps on top of a scaffolding and accidentally causes a billboard to fall. Alvin warns Dave, but the billboard sends Dave flying across the stage and crash into electric devices. After the accident, he is rushed to the hospital. Although he survives, he must stay for a few days to recuperate. The nurse gives him a sedative that will make him fall asleep in a minute, so he tells his boys that he’s leaving his Aunt Jackie (Kathryn Joosten) in charge of the Chipmunks until he returns. Also, he tells Alvin, Simon (voiced by Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (voiced by Jesse McCartney) that while he’s away, he wants them to have a normal childhood, and that he has also made arrangements for them to go to school. They head to the airport, where the Chipmunks meet up with Aunt Jackie, who introduces her grandson Toby (Zachary Levi), a former high school dropout. He is playing on a Nintendo DS, paying no attention to them. Toby then accidentally knocks Jackie’s wheelchair down some stairs while getting the boys’ luggage, and an airport luggage trolley crashes into her. She is also sent to the hospital, so Toby is left in charge.

Wright), Nick’s temperamental divorced parents (Steve Buscemi and Jean Smart), and Nick’s mom’s boyfriends (Zach Galifianakis and Ray Liotta). When Nick realizes she is not interested, he comes up with an alter-ego, named François, who resembles Nick, but has blue eyes, a mustache, a deeper voice, and a player/bad boy attitude to help him with his pursuit of Sheeni.
Description:
Bliss Cavendar (Ellen Page) is a misfit in her small town, Bodeen, in Texas and has no idea where her life is going. She allows her mother to push her into winning beauty pageant after beauty pageant, despite having no interest in it herself. She and her friend Pash (Alia Shawkat) dream of escaping their small town, with Pash planning to go to an Ivy League School in a big city and Bliss hoping to find something that will help her figure out where she belongs. During a shopping trip to Austin she finds it — roller derby. She and Pash secretly go to the Roller Derby event in Austin under the pretense of going to a football game. Bliss only wishes to tell the Hurl Scouts that they are “her new heroes” and is suddenly thrown into the idea of being in Roller Derby herself when Maggie Mayhem (Kristen Wiig) replies “Well, put some skates on and be your own hero”. She practices roller skating until she’s ready for trials. She’s able to go to the trials in Austin under the premise of taking SAT preparation classes and ends up impressing Razor, the coach, landing herself a place in the team. After realizing she needs to be ruthless in Roller Derby she realizes she also needs to take charge in other aspects of her life and her parents and old friends are eventually able to accept that Roller Derby is where she belongs, even if only for “the moment”.

Description:
Adam is a 2009 comedy-drama film written and directed by Max Mayer, starring Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne. The film follows the relationship between a young man named Adam (Dancy) with Asperger syndrome and the woman of his dreams, Beth (Byrne). Mayer was inspired to write the film’s script when he heard a radio interview with a man who had Asperger’s.
Filming took place in New York in December 2005. The film premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Alfred P. Sloan Prize, and has been released in United States on July 29, 2009. The release date in Canada and the UK is Aug. 7th, Aug. 20th in Australia, and everywhere else after Labor Day.
Soon after moving in, Beth, a brainy, beautiful writer damaged from a past relationship encounters Adam, the handsome, but odd, fellow in the downstairs apartment whose awkwardness is perplexing. Beth and Adam’s ultimate connection leads to a tricky relationship that exemplifies something universal: truly reaching another person means bravely stretching into uncomfortable territory and the resulting shake-up can be liberating.

Description:
George Clooney plays Ryan Bingham, a man who travels around the country to various workplaces and conducts employee layoffs on behalf of bosses too cowardly to do it themselves.[5][6] Walter Kirn stated in the film’s press notes: “Ryan is like a masseur who comes in and sort of rubs your shoulders while rolling your desk chair into the elevator.”[7] On occasion, he delivers motivational speeches about the virtue of a relationship-free life, often using a backpack analogy. He relishes the comfort of being anonymous during his perpetual travels.[8] He does not have a personal life and chooses to stay away from his family. He is close to achieving his personal goal of 10 million frequent flyer miles.
During his frequent flying, he meets a woman named Alex (Vera Farmiga) with whom Ryan starts to pursue a casual relationship. Ryan receives a business partner, Natalie Keener (Anna Kendrick), a young, ambitious, but still naïve Cornell graduate. Against Ryan’s wishes, his company chooses to ground him and keep him at the corporate headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska after the introduction of a new efficient layoff system introduced by Natalie.[9] Ryan counters that Natalie knows nothing about what it takes to fire people, and the company suggests that Ryan take Natalie on his travels to show her what the company does. Ryan begrudgingly accepts.

Description:
Meet the Rizzos, a family that might get along a lot better if only they could tell each other the truth. Dad Vince is the worst offender. But since the prison guard won’t even admit that poker night is in fact acting class, how’s he ever going to explain about his illegitimate son? His daughter works as a stripper when she’s supposed to be in college, while young Vinnie Jr has a secret sexual fetish that involves a 24-hour webcam and the family’s 300-pound neighbour. Vince’s wife Joyce is the family’s rock, but it’s been a year since she enjoyed intimacy with her husband, and it’s no surprise she thinks poker night spells A-F-F-A-I-R. When former prisoner Tony enters the Rizzos’ lives, Joyce begins to suspect that the handsome young Tony isn’t who Vince says he is. City Island is a funny, touching and smart family tale about the secrets of the past catching up with the lies of the present, and accepting that nobody’s perfect – least of all your loved ones.
